Lekaa Elhajjmoussa is a member of the Epsilon Class of Epsilon Alpha Sigma's Alpha Chapter at UCLA. This past weekend, Lekaa received the Leadership Award on March 8, 2015 from the American Medical Student Association (AMSA). Lekaa has been the International Outreach Project Chair for AMSA since her first year at UCLA, and has accepted the same position for this coming academic school year. The award Lekaa received from the American Medical Student Association is an honor to one AMSA staff member who exhibits exceptional leadership skills within AMSA and in other campus organizations. Aside from being one of our empowered doves, and AMSA staff chair, Lekaa is the co-founder and co-president of UCLA’s first Marine Life Preservation Society, and is involved in a neuroscience research lab on campus. With this award, Lekaa was recognized by both AMSA, and Dr. Yang, for a successful, and life changing, medical mission trip she led last year, for herself and seven other UCLA pre-medical students to Cusco, Peru. Lekaa is a Neuroscience major, with a planned English double major. She hopes to continue her studies after graduation in a master’s program followed by medical school. Lekaa's passion for the medical field is astonishing and her impact both within the UCLA community and amongst the global society is extremely impressive. Your sisters are very proud of your accomplishments Lekaa and we look forward to seeing where life takes you on your path to success!
